Serge Murphy

Born in Montreal in 1953, lives and works in Montreal. Serge Murphy, habitually practicing as a sculptor, has recently created a series of watercolours on paper. Despite this radical change of medium, the artist is recognizable by his signature formations, organic forms, and floating constructions. These works provide simple shapes in saturated colors, existing at the border of immateriality where Murphy plays with both transparency and accumulation of the medium.
