Born in Montreal in 1974, lives and works in Montreal. Daniel Langevin develops his compositions on a computer screen before engaging into a delicate operation of transcription and adjustment on meticulously prepared surfaces. While his early works, painted on wood screens, oscillated between abstraction and figuration, his recent paintings take ground in graphic systems decidedly abstract. However, his palette continues to play on those chromatic saturations to which the computer screen has now accustomed us.
