In the background of this work, we can see the 10 ton pillars from Gobekli Tepe in Turkey. This archaeological site uncovered one of the oldest temples dating about 7000 years prior to the Pyramids and Stonehenge. The recent discovery of Gobekli Tepe profoundly changed our understanding of the origins of our civilization. In the foreground of the drawing, an elliptical shape representing microtubules theoretically located inside the neurons. In his book “The emperor’s new mind”, Sir Roger Penrose explains that these microtubules could be the base for human consciousness at the quantum level.

The drawings from this series are like portals for the artist, bringing together the far past and the present, thus abolishing time. They are also enigmas to be solved using the ancient and modern knowledge.
